Vineyard
Originating from Les Charmes, one of the most famous climats within the Cru Morgon in Beaujolais.
Soil
Granite-rich soils with iron-bearing weathered rocks and limestone influences that provide concentration, elegance, and minerality.
Terroir
Morgon is one of the ten official Crus of Beaujolais and is known for the most powerful and longest-lasting Gamay wines. The Les Charmes vineyard produces wines with an exceptional combination of ripe fruit, structure, and finesse. Thanks to the granite terroir, the wines develop characteristics reminiscent of Pinot Noir from Burgundy after a few years of bottle aging. This is a development locally known as "morgonner".
Cultivation & Methods
- 100% Gamay
- Traditional Beaujolais vinification
- Carbonic maceration (Maceration Carbonique) for 8–10 days
- Temperature-controlled fermentation
- Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation partly in oak
- 6 to 8 months maturation in oak barrels
- Sustainable viticulture with respect for biodiversity; the estate has been transitioning to organic viticulture since 2019.
